What is "expedited screening" at HOU?

Expedited screening refers to faster security screening programs that help eligible travelers move through Hobby Airport security more quickly than standard TSA lines.

Expedited screening is available at the HOU security checkpoint for travelers who are:

  • TSA Pre✓™ members (with logo on boarding pass)
  • Department of Defense (DoD) members
  • Adults 75 and older
  • Children 12 and under

TSA Pre✓™ travelers receive expedited screening benefits. In the absence of a dedicated TSA Pre✓™ lane at the checkpoint, TSA Pre✓™ passengers will still be expedited through available lanes.

Expedited screening requirements: Travelers must remove liquids and large electronic devices (such as laptops) from carry-on baggage. Travelers undergoing expedited screening are NOT required to remove shoes and light jackets.

Pre✓™ availability at the HOU checkpoint is subject to change based on traveler throughput analysis and participation.
