Officials with the Houston Airport System in partnership with the City of Houston Mayor’s Office, United Airlines and the TSA hosted staff members from the Houston-area U.S. Congressional delegation on Thursday, March 2.
“Houston Airports are experiencing tremendous growth, and we have many projects underway to accommodate that growth from infrastructure to concessions and more,” said Houston Airports Government Relations Director Tim Joniec. “We greatly appreciate staff members from the Houston-area U.S. Congressional delegation coming out to better understand and get familiar with the latest developments happening at the airport.”
The program consisted of a discussion on airport issues and a tour of the airfield at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and an inside tour of the new Terminal C-North. The delegation previewed the state-of-the-art terminal facilities, including concessions spaces and architectural features.
Following the tour, staff members were able to discuss pressing airport issues at the federal level with Houston Aviation Director Mario Diaz and other members of the airport leadership team.
