IAH Volunteer Headquarters Celebrates Four Years
August 8, 2018

Airport Ambassadors are an integral part of delivering top-notch customer service at Houston Airports and are valued team members.

Four years ago, Ella Ghica, Houston Airports Assistant Customer Service Manager, wanted the ambassadors to have a comfortable space to relax when taking breaks from serving the customer. Her answer was the IAH Volunteer Program Headquarters.

The headquarters is a quiet place with comfortable seating, snacks and beverages that volunteers have come to enjoy. They also have lockers, so that the ambassadors can store their personal items.

“The volunteers were so appreciative when it first opened, because they did not have a quiet place to relax during their breaks, and it was great to be able to provide that for our Airport Ambassadors, because they dedicate their time at no charge to make sure our visitors have a great first impression of Houston,” said Ghica. “We held a small celebration at the headquarters to make the special occasion.”

IAH Ambassadors help an average 40 customers an hour seven days a week. They are often times the first impression visitors have of Houston. With more than 50 million customers annually, Houston Airports is always seeking volunteer airport ambassadors who are friendly, outgoing and love to help others.
