Houston Friendly Spotlight - Marilyn Morris
June 18, 2018

Marilyn Morris works in the valet parking area at Hobby Airport. During her work day, she noticed one of the vehicles had a flat tire.

By researching the license plate number, Morris was able to contact the owner’s wife. She was grateful that Morris had noticed the flat tire, because she was able to call AAA to fix the tire before her husband’s return to the airport.

The customer noted, “the first technician to arrive couldn't find a tool that he needed to fix the tire, so he left. Marilyn Morris called me to let me know, so I could call my husband and find out where the tool was located inside the truck. I then called AAA again to come out. They found the tool with the help of Marilyn and another employee and AAA were able to change the flat. When my husband arrived at the airport after a long day, the truck was ready to go!”

She further stated, “We wanted to let you know “how important customer service is and what a wonderful job Marilyn did. She went ABOVE and BEYOND the call of duty and she had a great attitude through the whole process and never seemed irritated or upset. We couldn't have done it without her!  Employees like Marilyn are hard to find! Keep up the good work!”

Morris was presented with the monthly “Unsung Heroine” award. The award recognizes an employee who assisted a customer in a positive manner during their travel. The act performed positively enhances the Airport’s overall image by exceeding expectations.
