Houston Airports Celebrates Houston Rodeo
March 12, 2019

Houston's airports are often the first impression visitors receive of the City of Houston. And Houston Airports are in full Houston Rodeo mode bringing the rodeo to passengers traveling through the airports.

The airport system is again working with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to give passengers a first-class peek into one of the world’s largest livestock exhibitions from some of Houston’s most promising young artists. From now through the end of March, Houston Airports will display almost 200 works of art from past winners, pre-K through 12th grade students, of Rodeo Houston’s School Art program showcasing the culture, history and heritage of Texas.

Each year, about 300,000 students from Houston-area schools participate in the contest that awards 15 four-year, $18,000 School Art Scholarships to graduating seniors. To date the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has awarded over $375 million in scholarships.

In addition, the airports' Harmony in the Air pefroming arts program has added Country Western performances.
