Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston Airport System Chief Municipal Affairs Officer Rhonda Arnold were program speakers at the 2016 Top 30 Influential Women of Houston hosted by d-mars.com at the Houstonian Hotel. Mayor Turner saluted the 2016 honorees and thanked them for their service. San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor and Council Member Larry Green attended as special guests and helped honor the distinguished award winners.

Arnold, a 2013 Top Influential Women honoree, served as the event co-chair and helped present awards to the honorees, including State Representative Carol Alvarado, Council Member Amanda Edwards, State Representative Ana Hernandez, Houston ISD Trustee Wanda Adams, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Dr. Laura Murillo, Attorney Gracie Saenz, Houston East End Chamber of Commerce President Frances Castaneda-Dyess, Harris County Precinct 1 Director Mary Bentone. The Links, Western Area was the recipient of the newly established Sheila Jackson-Lee Award for Community Service.
