Beneath George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), a piece of Disney transportation history is stil doing exactly what it was built to do: move people.
The IAH Subway opened Aug. 17, 1981. Fourty-five years later, the only WEDway PeopleMover built by the Walt Disney Company outside of a Disney property still carries millions of people between airport terminals and the Marriott.

Ride the IAH Subway
The Subway connects IAH terminals and the Houston Airport Marriott before security. No plane ticket is required to ride the Subway.
- Stops: Terminals A, B, C and D/E, plus the Houston Airport Marriott
- Frequency: About 3 minutes
- Full loop: About 19 minutes along the two-mile route
- Location: Underground and outside security
- Hours: 3:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. the following day
- Cost: Free
- Find it: Follow airport signs to the lower-level Subway stations
