The IAH Subway through the years
Before Disney, the tunnel had a movie role
Film fans may recognize IAH’s underground transit corridor from “Futureworld,” the 1976 science-fiction sequel to “Westworld.”
The movie was made before today’s WEDway system opened. It featured IAH’s original airport tram and used Houston’s modern architecture, including the airport, Jones Hall and NASA’s Johnson Space Center, to help depict the future. The Disney-built Subway passengers ride today opened five years later.
Wait?! Is that the IAH Subway in a movie with Chuck Norris?
The Subway at Bush Airport was featured in the 1992 movie Sidekicks, which was filmed in Houston and starred Chuck Norris.
