United Airlines Restores Nonstop Service Between Houston and Caracas
May 12, 2026
Daily flights reconnect Houston with Venezuela and strengthen ties across the Americas
United Airlines announced today it will resume nonstop daily service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas, Venezuela, beginning Aug. 11. The route restores a key connection between Houston and Venezuela for the first time in nearly a decade.
The new service strengthens Houston’s role as a global gateway to Latin America and supports growing economic, cultural and family ties between the two regions.
“I’m pleased to see the nonstop service resume between Houston and Caracas. It reflects the importance of Houston’s international connections and economic ties across the globe,” said Houston Mayor John Whitmire. “This route is great and will reconnect travelers and Houston businesses. I want to thank United Airlines and the Houston Airport System for resuming this level of service.”
Mayor Whitmire has focused on expanding Houston’s international profile through stronger business, tourism and global connections. Recent announcements, including new nonstop service to Caracas and ITA Airways’ Rome route, reflect Houston’s continued international growth.
Houston is home to one of the nation’s largest Venezuelan communities, and the restored service further supports Houston’s position as a leading gateway for international business and travel across the Americas.
“Houston is one of the most connected international gateways in the Americas, and the return of nonstop service to Caracas restores an important connection to another capital city in our global network,” said Jim Szczesniak, Houston Airports director of aviation. “This route reconnects communities and creates new opportunities for travelers and businesses across our region.”
United’s Houston hub offers up to 100 daily flights to more than 50 destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean, with connections to more than 180 destinations worldwide.
United will operate daily nonstop service between Houston and Caracas beginning Aug. 11 aboard a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
