Houston Airports is working with the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the Houston Art Alliance on the creation and installation of 12 new site-specific art commissions for the six new gates at the new Mickey Leland International Terminal and the new International Central Processor. The custom artwork will be installed and on view by spring 2024. All artwork selected will reflect the welcoming nature of Houston as a city with distinct culture. Each work will celebrate the rich and diverse local fabric that makes Houston inspiring for residents and visitors.
The artists developing commissions for this project include Reginald Adams, Emilie Duval, Leslie Gaworecki, Marlo Saucedo and Houston Poet Laureate Emanuelee “Outspoken” Bean, Graciela Hasper, Lovie Olivia, Gerardo Rosales, Regina Silveira, Nick Vaughn and Jake Margolin.
