Passport Fairs Being Held This Month at Houston Airports

The U.S. Department of State is making getting your passport event easier. Through a partnership  with Houston Airports International Affairs, a passport fair will be held at both William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) on Friday, Oct. 20 and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

International passenger traffic is in Houston is at an all-time high. International passenger totals at Houston Airports reached a record high 11.6 Million in 2016. With the surge in commercial international travel, the Department is expecting an increase in passport applications through 2018 and encourages travelers to submit passport applications well ahead of their planned travel dates to avoid delays receiving their travel documents. Typically, applicants can receive their passports more quickly when applying between the months of September through December.

HOU Passport Fair

10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 20

HOU Conference Room A & B, 2nd level, ticketing and departures (east side)

 

IAH Passport Fair

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 25
IAH Terminal D – Ticketing Lobby
 (west side)

The event is open to the public. Please bring the following:

  • A completed and unsigned application (available on www.travel.state.gov/passport)
  • 2x2 inch color Passport Photo of yourself (no photos will be taken on-site)
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship
  • Proof of Identity (Driver’s License, State Issued ID)
  • Photocopy of front and back of ID (color)
  • Check, money order or credit card

Children have to be present with both parents. If only one parent can be present, a notarized DS-3053, with a copy of the front and back of the non-applying parent will need to be completed.
