Team USA bobsledder Sam McGuffie grew up in Cypress where was a star running back for Cy-Fair High School. He transferred from Michigan to Rice University his sophomore year where he starred in football and track. His athleticism has now transferred to bobsledding where he was selected to represent the country at the Winter Olympics.

While the team didn’t secure a medal, they are still appreciated, and fans from all over the city traveled to Bush Airport to welcome McGuffie home.
