On June 1, Galaxy FBO began operating at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). The facility is the newest Fixed Based Operation (FBO) at HOU and offers customers several amenities, including a two-story, 23,000-sq-ft terminal flanked by a pair of 38,000-sq-ft hangars which can handle corporate jets, air-medical and military aircrafts, helicopters and more.
Galaxy is located on 19 acres on the south side of the airport, adjacent to the U.S. Customs facility at the end of Runway 4.
The new facility is also home to Wing Aviation, a sister company to Galaxy, that offers customers an exclusive 1,300-sq-ft Voyager Lounge.
Other Galaxy amenities include centralized hotel booking and concierge, complimentary crew car and go rental cars onsite, air start cart service, a flight planning room, and much more.
Galaxy established its first FBO at Conroe North Houston Regional Airport in 2006 and also operates a heliport in The Woodlands. “The new facility will provide visitors with an impressive gateway to Houston, and a great experience for the flight crew,” said general manager Tony Wright. “When it reaches its full capacity, Galaxy FBO is expected to add over 30 new hires to our workforce.”
A fixed-based operator (FBO) is the primary provider of support services to general aviation operators at a public-use airport and is located most often on airport leasehold property. FBOs can provide premier flight support services including hangar space, fueling ang ground handling.
