Houston Airports is Committed to Ensuring Clean Facilities

Houston Airports' utmost concern is the safety of our passengers and employees. Please be assured if you have essential travel that your health is paramount.
Since COVID-19 hit our city, Houston Airports maintains close contact with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the City of Houston Health Department to ensure vigorous cleaning protocols are in place including:
- custodial services use hospital grade disinfectants to wipe down surfaces and touchpoints at all terminals
- hand sanitizing stations and hand soap dispensers are kept stocked and are readily accessible to passengers and staff
- passengers and employees are encouraged to practice healthy hygiene habits such as washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth, and staying home if sick
- significantly increased cleaning and disinfecting efforts at all terminals
- ongoing cleaning and disinfecting of all touchpoints in restrooms, using a CDC-recommended and EPA-approved cleaning agent
- hand sanitizer (62% alcohol) stations are available and monitored and refilled on an ongoing basis
- airline gate areas are cleaned after the last flight, as well as routinely throughout the day.
- cleaning staff wear disposable medical gloves
- contractors working as wheelchair attendants have been provided disinfectant spray to sanitize the wheelchairs touchpoints throughout the day. At night they spray and wipe down the entire chair so that it is ready for use the next day.
