United Airlines begins daily nonstop air service to Boise, Idaho and Williston, N.D.
August 19, 2014

HOUSTON — The term “western swing” took on a whole new meaning when United Airlines expanded its regional service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) with the addition of daily nonstop service to both Boise, Idaho and Williston, N.D., beginning Aug. 19, 2014.

Operated by SkyWest Airlines using a 70-seat regional jet, the daily flight from Boise Airport (BOI) to Houston will depart at 7:30 a.m. and arrive at IAH at 12:01 p.m. The return flight will depart Houston at 5:45 p.m. and arrive at Boise at 8:31 p.m. (all times are local).

“This new nonstop flight connecting Houston to Boise is great for both cities, and we are confident this route will prove successful,” said Molly Waits, the Houston Airport System’s Director of Air Service Development. “Boise has a thriving performing arts scene for our leisure passengers to enjoy as well as great partnerships for Houston-based businesses.”

Houston is the fifth United Airlines hub with nonstop service from BOI — joining Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco — and will provide its passengers access to 176 destinations, including 51 destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean.

United Airlines is the only airline offering flights between Houston and Boise.

"We are thrilled United is offering Boise’s first nonstop flight into Texas, and we are even happier it is through Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport," said Rebecca Hupp, Director of the Boise Airport. "This new United service opens up a whole new region of the country for us, and helps our customers more easily connect to businesses in the Houston area, as well as serving as a convenient hub for Caribbean, Latin American and South American flights."

Operated by SkyWest Airlines using a 50-seat regional jet, the daily flight from IAH to Williston’s Sloulin Field International Airport (ISN) departs at 9:40 a.m. and arrives in North Dakota at 1:18 p.m. The return flight departs ISN at 2:15 p.m. and arrives in Houston at 5:51 p.m. (all times are local).

The addition means now nine daily nonstop roundtrip flights and 20 additional one-stop connections are available out of ISN, which services western North Dakota and eastern Montana. United began jet service to the airport in 2012, and also offers four round trip flights per day from Williston to Denver (DEN).

“The Williston area is a great outdoors destination, with excellent hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and is part of the Lewis and Clark Trail,” Waits said. “It also has strong connections with the oil and gas industry — and, thus, Houston — all of which means the parts are in place for a successful partnership for our Houston-based passengers.”
