U.S. Department of State to Hold Passport Fair at Bush Intercontinental Airport

Complete your passport application at Bush Airport on July 26.

July 7, 2016

The U.S. Department of State is celebrating Passport Awareness Month in September by launching an “Apply Early” campaign for U.S. citizens thinking about renewing their current passports or applying for the first time.  A passport fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The fair will be located in a room to the west of the ticketing lobby at Terminal D.

International passenger traffic is booming in Houston. Ten new international air carriers have either announced or launched service since 2013. International passenger totals at Houston Airports reached a record high 10.7 Million in 2015. With the surge in commercial international travel, the Department is expecting an increase in passport applications through 2018 and encourages travelers to submit passport applications well ahead of their planned travel dates in order to avoid delays receiving their travel documents. Typically, applicants can receive their passports more quickly when applying between the months of September to December.
