Houston Airports Spreads Love for Valentine's Day
March 8, 2017

Houston Airports tried to add a little love—or at least some chocolate—to passengers traveling on Valentine’s Day.

Airport staff at at both George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports donned red and pink clothing—the colors associated with the annual day of love—as they passed through the terminals balloons and heart-shaped boxes filled with chocolates for travelers. Airport staff also made a special visit to the United Service Organizations (USO) lounges at both airports to meet and greet U.S. military members who also received balloons and chocolates, as well as teddy bears.

“It was great to see the smiles on passenger’s faces when we presented them with the valetines gifts," said Houston Airports Director Airport Initiatives and Volunteer Services Caroline Schneider. "The most important part of an airport are the passengers, and we wanted then to feel appreciated. We hope we made their day a little bit more lovely.”

Over 2,000 items were given out at the two airports.
