Vacation Express
Vacation Express announced the return of their nonstop flights to Punta Cana from Houston. Flights will depart from George Bush Intercontinental Airport every Friday for six-nights starting May 26 through August 4, 2017 for Punta Cana International Airport.

These flights begin just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, the start of the summer travel season.

Flights will be operated by Swift Air, LLC. on a Boeing 737 aircraft. Travelers can purchase roundtrip airfare, but most are booking 6-night packages with air and staying at all-inclusive resorts starting at $799* in Punta Cana, with kids under 12 staying free at some resorts.† Packages to this destination can be booked online at VACATIONEXPRESS.com, by calling 1-800-309-4717 or through a local travel agent.

West Jet
WestJet will double its service to Houston with a new daily flight from George Bush Intercontinental Airport beginning in May 2017.

With the addition, the Calgary, Alberta-based airline — which debuted nonstop service to Houston from Calgary International Airport in September 2015 — will offer an 8 a.m. flight (local time) from Bush Airport to Calgary every day except Sundays, and a 6:45 p.m. (local time) flight from Calgary that will arrive in Houston at 11:44 p.m. As well, WestJet will continue its 6-day-per-week route that arrives at Houston at 3:24 p.m. and returns to Calgary at 5 p.m.

WestJet and regional arm WestJet Encore offer scheduled service to more than 100 destinations in North America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, with more than 150 destinations in more than 20 countries available.

Volaris
Volaris, the ultra-low cost Mexican airline that operates in Mexico, the United States and Central America celebrated the launch of an additional route to George Bush Intercontinental Airport on March 6.

A new route between Bush Airport and Mexico City will offer service four days per week.

“Passengers at Bush Airport continue to enjoy an unprecedented level of connectivity with Latin America and Volaris’ commitment to Houston is helping to make that connection even stronger,” Houston Aviation Director Mario Diaz said. “This new non-stop service to Mexico City complements the continued expansion of the international service available at Bush Airport and will provide Volaris’ customers with even better access to our dynamic, growing city and all that it offers.”

This new route is part of Volaris’ expansion strategy in U.S. key destinations. Volaris started operations in Houston at Bush Airport with a nonstop service from Guadalajara in 2015.

Houston is a major market for Volaris due to the large percentage of the population with a Mexican heritage. This important demographic makes the city a key location for Volaris’ expansion. In addition, Houston represents one of the most important energy markets in the United States. It is a high-traffic city located on the Gulf of Mexico’s coast and has access to numerous ports throughout the Americas.
