Marie Anderson joined the Houston Airport System as Deputy Director of Corporate Strategy & Performance in April 2013. Anderson oversees strategic management, corporate services, supply chain management and procurement and guarantees each business unit is aligned to organizational goals.
Anderson communicates the business strategy, mission and vision to all airport employees and ensures they understand how their functions connect to HAS objectives. She implemented the Operational Excellence Project to improve the airports’ products and services by collecting relevant information from data-driven decision making.
Prior to joining HAS, Anderson worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center. She led business planning, team building and project management for the Chief Financial Officer and the Strategic Opportunities and Partnership Development Office.
In addition to her airport duties, Anderson is a member of the following organizations: Women in Aviation, the American Association of Airport Executives and the Association of Internal Management Consultants.
Anderson graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration and a Master of Aeronautical Science. She holds Master Balanced Scorecard Professional and Lean Six Sigma certifications.
