Public involvement is an important part of the Master Plan Process. It is a valuable tool used by the project consultants and HAS in making decisions relating to the Master Plan. For this project, the public is defined as airport users, surrounding residents, businesses and organizations and others who feel they have a stake in the future development of William P. Hobby Airport.
Throughout the project, a variety of public involvement opportunities will be offered. Public Meetings are the primary element of the public involvement plan. At specific points during the course of the Master Plan, public meetings will be held to present project status and gather comments and suggestions. Other elements of the plan include this web site and possibly questionnaires or comment forms.
In addition to meetings for the general public, various committees made up of airport staff and tenants, government agency representatives including City Planners, nearby residents and others will be assembled. These committees will meet several times during the project to be briefed on the status, especially when alternatives or proposed projects are discovered.
