Since April 26, 2009, the CDC has been working closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at IAH to monitor inbound international travelers arriving from Mexico. Currently, CDC is not restricting any international travelers from being processed into the U.S. at IAH.
The public is permitted to take this cautionary measure if deemed necessary. However, washing your hands with soap and water frequently and sanitizing your hands with hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available is one of the most effective preventive measures to protect yourself. There is no requirement to wear a mask while traveling and you may be requested to temporarily remove the mask for identification purposes while processing through passport control, customs and security checkpoints.
