Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Overview

Capital Improvement Program Summary 

The Houston Airport System has a five-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is approved annually by the City of Houston City Council. The FY2016-2020 program was adopted by City Council on July 8, 2015 and calls for $2.3 billion in spending. This CIP concentrates on terminal renovations and expansion along with airfield and infrastructure projects. The dominant terminal project, shown as CIP No. A-000800, provides for the replacement of the existing Terminal D at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and associated enabling projects.
