To see how it all works, the Houston Airport System (HAS) now offers an official Airport Tour Program .
Tours are available at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and are offered without charge to groups such as schools, scouting organizations, senior centers, church clubs, professional societies, etc. Limited tours are also available at Ellington Airport (EFD) to groups no larger than 12, depending on availability.

Our tours provide a close-up look at Houston's airports and how they operate, as well as useful traveling tips. Tour participants see an airport in action. Due to security and safety concerns, the tours are confined to public areas of the airports and the terminal buildings. Since we do not own or operate any aircraft these are not included in the tours.
And in addition to airport and aviation commentary by a tour guide, presentations may be offered by different airport specialty groups, such as airline representatives, U.S. Customs, Immigration, and Agriculture officials, and HAS & FAA specialists.
We can customize a tour to fit the interest or special needs of different groups. Tours will last between 1½ to 2 hours during normal business hours. Tours are available to both adults and children (7 years and older and who are at least in the third grade). Tours are limited to a maximum of 24 people, except at Ellington Field. Large groups or organizations are limited to one tour per day.
Advance reservations are required and can be made by submitting your request in writing, 21 business days prior to the desired tour date, to Zeljka Momirovic, to hastours@cityofhouston.net or to fax # 281-233-1535. For more information, contact the HAS Tour Program Hotline at 281-233-1233.
In addition to airport tours showing an airport in operation, HAS conducts monthly tours of the public artworks and visual attractions located at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). IAH features over twenty diverse artworks and visual attractions, constituting a substantial contribution to Houston's "art all around" program. These works are located in all five terminal buildings and on the outside grounds of the airport as well. HOU is still under renovation construction, part of which will involve the installation of additional artworks. Several artworks are currently on display there.
Art tours require advance reservations, and groups are limited to a maximum of 12 attendees - there is no minimum number. Please contact Gray James at 281-233-1946 for information and reservations.
