Tropical Storm Hermine affects Houston Flights
Tropical Storm Hermine continues to bring severe weather to the Houston area, including heavy rains and strong gusts of wind. As a result, airports across Texas are experiencing delays and/or cancellations with both arriving and departing flights, and this includes the flight schedules found at both George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) Airports.

Continental – United Merger Clears Federal Hurdle
The proposed merger between Continental and United Airlines has taken a major step forward, with the United States Department of Justice completing its review and offering a formal green light for merger plans between the two companies. The federal approval marks a major milestone in the drive to finalize the transaction by October 1, 2010, and sets up a pivotal vote for September 17, 2010.

George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby Airports have once again solidified their standing as industry-leading facilities, taking top honors in a recent customer satisfaction survey carried out by Travel + Leisure magazine. Readers of the publication listed the city of Houston as having "the best airports in the country."

United Airlines Announces New Service to Aspen, Colorado
United Airlines has announced plans to begin non-stop flights from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Aspen, Colorado, beginning on January 4, 2011. The new service will connect Houston to one of the country’s premiere resort locations.

Passenger Totals Continue to Climb in 2010
The Houston Airport System continues to record significant increases in the number of passengers handled in 2010, specifically in regards to the total number of domestic passengers at William P. Hobby Airport and international passengers traveling through George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
