» » » Fingerprinting Process
All new badge applicants shall be fingerprinted and a criminal history record check shall be performed.
Fingerprints will be taken when you submit your Application at the Airport Badging Office (ABO) using electronic scanning equipment. Domestic air carriers perform their own fingerprinting of their employees.
The fingerprints are immediately submitted for processing -- this process normally takes 2-3 business days on average.
The Airport Badging Office (ABO) will notify your HAS Authorized Signature Authority when your criminal history record check is complete and your Application is ready/approved for final processing (you or your Signature Authority should contact the ABO or check this site to determine if your CHRC is complete in order to continue the badging process).
- » Note: If you are not badged within 30 days of receipt of your CHRC you must repeat the application and fingerprint process.
Be aware that in the event there are questions resulting from the background check results, you may be contacted by the Airport Security Coordinator's (ASC's) Office. The ASC's Office is responsible for reviewing and approving all requests. You may be asked to provide additional information or additional documentation to assist the ASC's Office with their review and research.
Fingerprint results are returned within 2-3 weeks on average.
