2nd Annual Airport Express Endurance Ride
Please join us for the 2nd Annual Airport Express Endurance Ride! Endurance riders are gathering on Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 to complete in a 50-mile or 25-mile marked trail ride or participate in a 10-mile fun ride throughout the 13,000 acres of groomed riding trails at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
This year's event is benefiting SIRE - Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Centers and Houston Airport System Interfaith Chapels.
Endurance riding is an athletic event for both the horse and the rider. The goal is to complete the marked trail within the time given with a horse that is fit to continue. All horses must pass a complete vet check before, during and after the ride.
This year marks a historic addition, making it the first of three commemorative rides in the Texas Mortl Challenge Series honoring April Mortl.
A variety of activities will take place each day from educational demonstrations showcasing SIRE and HPD Mounted Patrol to live entertainment.
