Korean Air to start cargo service at IAH
As we enter 2007, cargo is still hot business and Korean Airlines is grabbing a piece of the action by joining the service providers at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Twice a week service by Korean Air Lines Co. Ltd. is scheduled to begin Jan. 25th. Read Story

Even more passenger and air cargo traffic for HAS
Boosted by another year of passenger and air cargo traffic increases, Houston’s three primary airports head toward another record-breaking performance – one month shy of the New Year both Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports closed the month of November 2006 with impressive traffic growth. Read Story

Without a passport, getting home won’t be so easy 
As of the fourth week of this New Year, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will require all travelers coming into the United States to present valid passports. This includes U.S. citizens, adults and minors, returning to the U.S. by air from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. All children, regardless of age, including newborns and infants, must have their own passport as well.  Read Story

Protecting the nation’s borders 
This year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is looking to create a new awareness about the dangers of pesticides and diseases. Last month, that federal agency launched a public awareness campaign with the objective of deterring international travelers from transporting the bird flu into the U.S.  Read Story

The man behind the legend
His story is one that not many people know, but his name is synonymous with courage, perseverance and modernism. Born in 1889, Lt. Eric L. Ellington was a man of many dreams – the most of which was to serve his country and make a difference. Today, he is a legend in his own right and his name is the title of the joint-use civil/military airport that houses the likes of NASA, the Texas Air National Guard, the United States Coast Guard and the Texas Army National Guard, among others.  Read Story

Private ties – staying in touch with Mexico 
For Felipe Calderon, winning the presidential election was only just the beginning. Now the freshly-elected Mexican president is looking to fortify the existing relationships between his country and other nations by holding diplomatic meetings. Of particular interest to the Morelia, Michoacan-born head of state is the strengthening of Mexico-U.S. relations. For that reason, one of the first groups invited to visit with the president was from the state of Texas.  Read Story

Better-serving the world since 2005
It is a rather sweet surprise to most passengers. Especially for those who have not set foot at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) over the last two years. A feeling of awe seems to overcome many international travelers as they first arrive at the airport’s now-two-year-old Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility. It is, after all, the largest structure of its kind in the nation.  Read Story

When it rains it pours, but it doesn’t have to flood
Already a favorite among American travelers, Hobby Airport is now looking to elevate the travel experience in Houston by bringing an end to local drainage issues. The rain drops may keep falling on our heads, as singer B.J. Thomas noted, but the Houston Airport System is stepping in to help solve some of the flooding problems on the local and state controlled roads surrounding Hobby, Bush and Ellington Field.
