The Houston Airport System works closely with local organizations such as the Greater Houston Partnership, Greater Houston Convention & Visitor's Bureau and the Houston Image Group to market the city of Houston and its airports worldwide. Through close relationships with the media, travel organizations, corporations, and airlines around the globe, the marketing team promotes Houston and its three main airports as the gateway of choice for domestic and international travel.
The primary goals for the marketing team are to (1) improve traffic flows to/through Houston, (2) improve quality of passenger air service, (3) maximize marketing resources, (4) increase domestic and international cargo levels, and (5) increase import cargo activity in Houston.
We accomplish this by educating the travel industry, media, and other entities about our outstanding facilities (passenger and cargo), increasing airline service levels, and increasing competition levels in the market. As such, the marketing team works closely with airlines currently offering service to/from Houston in order to increase their route networks and frequency of operations. Improving these services provides a benefit to our end customers, the passengers who travel through our airports, by increasing service levels and providing them with more options. We also maintain relationships with several carriers which currently do not offer service to Houston to increase the interest in Houston as a future market for expansion. |
