Offering viewers unprecedented access to one of the largest airport systems in the world, the TV show is now online. For Celene Peña, importing flowers through IAH has allowed her business to blossom Five years ago, Celene Peña's business was in trouble. Competition was getting fierce and the cost of getting flowers delivered to her makeshift home-flower shop in Houston was getting too expensive. A Mexico native, the self-made entreprenuer knew that the only way to keep her business afloat was to start bringing in products from abroad . Today she imports flowers from Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador and Peru through IAH and her business is doing better than ever. Read Story
Community turns out to celebrate Bush Intercontinental Showing their support for Houston’s largest airport, three local chambers of commerce joined forces, this year, to commemorate the 24th annual Bush Intercontinental Airport Appreciation Festival. Among the festivities put together by the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce and the North Houston Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce were aircraft displays, live music, Texas-style cuisine, children’s games and display booths. Airport festival brings in scholarships for local students At the recent luncheon held in appreciation of Bush Intercontinental Airport 10 area students were awarded college scholarships. Each year, every purchased ticket to the IAH Airport Appreciation Festival and sales from the associated luncheon, bring in a chance for a local high school senior to get a college scholarship. Keeping Houston's airports safe Courage, accountability and honor were the theme of this year’s Humble Area Chamber of Commerce’s Peace Officers of the Year Awards Luncheon. For their hard work and dedication two airport police officers were honored for the first time in the history of this important event.
Canine teams at IAH rewarded for their dogged determination A “paws” in the action of the Houston Airport System was recently lived at Bush Intercontinental Airport as the Transportation Security Administration took a time out to honor Continental Airlines for their support of the TSA National Explosives Detection Canine Teams Program.
