In performance, value, facilities and regulatory operations for air cargo management few other airports in the world compares to Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH); this according to the readers of the internationally-circulated Air Cargo World magazine.

For the second consecutive year, this month, IAH was selected as the recipient of the ACE Award for Excellence in the category of airports with less than 500,000 tons of air cargo annually.

“By no means is the Award for Excellence based upon a ‘popularity’ vote,” said Steve Prince, publisher of Air Cargo World.

“Rather, it is earned by achieving superior ratings from your customers in four key areas of measurement: performance, value, facilities and regulatory operations.”

Participants of the survey – which will appear in the March 2006 issue of Air Cargo World – were asked to rank each airport on a scale of one to five in all of the rating categories. IAH emerged as the highest-rated airport.

Air Cargo World is the preeminent, most trusted and most respected publication exclusively serving the international air freight industry, with the largest air cargo circulation in the world – 34,000 strong.

IAH is the 10th-largest international air cargo gateway in the world and last year, combined with Hobby Airport, moved more than 347,000 metric tons worth of air cargo.

“As an air cargo hub, Bush Intercontinental is better positioned as an international gateway than most other airports,” said Rick Vacar, director of the Houston Airport System. “The fact that the industry agrees is a testament to the strength of our market.”
