Ongoing Construction - Traffic Information   

Because of ongoing construction for the extension of George Bush Intercontinental Airport’s automated people mover (above ground train) to Terminal A, travelers to the airport should expect the following roadway changes:

June 26, 2008 until further notice  All times

There will be two lanes of traffic open around Terminal A - one lane is closest to the terminal, opened for through traffic only; the second land is the tug road. This roadway configuration will remain in place until further notice.
Passenger pickup on the north side has been moved to the south of the terminal, signage and barricades are in place to preclude pedestrian traffic from exiting through the north side. 

June 23, 2008 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. The North Terminal Rd. in front of Terminal A will be completely closed.  All traffic will be detoured to the tug road.  At 5:00 a.m., the North Terminal Rd will be opened in front of Terminal A with ONE through lane in front of Terminal A.  Passenger pickup will now be on the south side of Terminal A.  
June 16- 18 2008 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be one outside lane closure from Terminal B to the A/B Garage.
June 13, 2008 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be one outside lane closure on North Terminal Rd. (south lane) for water shutoff to install the new line.
June 12, 2008 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. There will be one outside lane closed on North Terminal Road (south lane) for a water line shut down to test water valves. There will be no water service for Terminal "A" North during this timeframe.
June 10- June 12 2008 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be one lane closure on JFK North bound just before the terminal split. Left lane will be closed cones and directional lighting will be in place to help traffic flow.  
 June 9, 2008 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be one outside lane closed on North Terminal Road from East of Terminal B to the A/B Garage to install new water line connections.
 June 7, 2008 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be one outside lane closed on North Terminal Road from East of Terminal B to the A/B Garage. (This will only be required if repairs are needed for existing water valves.) 

June 6, 2008

10 p.m to 5 a.m. There will be one outside lane closed on North Terminal Road from East of Terminal B to the A/B Garage for a water line shut down to test water valves.

Height restrictions on North Terminal Road, near the north side of Terminal A, have been reduced to 13 feet and 6 inches because of construction. Vehicles taller than 13 feet and 6 inches should contact 281.230.3100 to be escorted through the airport.
