» » George Bush Intercontinental
The new international arrivals building will open first quarter 2005 to process all arriving international passengers at Bush IAH. The 800,000 square-foot facility will connect with Terminals D and E via pedestrian bridges. The facility also provides access to the automated people mover for transportation to Terminals B and C. An adjacent public parking structure adds 2,500 parking stalls to serve Terminals C, D, and E. The building will house a ticketing lobby for Continental Airlines departures from Terminals D and E. Ticketing for foreign-flag departures will remain in Terminal D.

Intercontinental is an increasingly prominent gateway to South America and other international destinations. Continental's new exclusive-use international terminal, Terminal E, includes better baggage-handling equipment and Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facilities. Terminals E and D will be connected to a new 800,000-square-foot FIS building with abundant space for federal agents of the Customs & Border Protection (CBP). The 800,000 square feet includes parking spaces for those federal employees, and outside of that space, additional parking for passengers and patrons will be available. The FIS building will feature an extensive baggage system including baggage re-check for connecting flights and a spacious meet-and-greet hall.
