A behind the scenes look at the largest and most luxurious business class seats in the aviation world awaits travelers passing through George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) from Friday, March 7th through Thursday, March 13th, 2008.
To celebrate the upcoming launch of Singapore Airlines’ new non-stop Houston-Moscow-Singapore service, which begins on March 20th, the air carrier will unveil this eye-catching display at IAH’s Terminal D, the Mickey Leland International Terminal.
Passengers at Bush Intercontinental will have the opportunity to experience some of the internationally renowned amenities offered by this award winning airline. Their 30-inch wide business class seats are almost 50 percent wider than most other carriers’ seats in this same class. The innovative and functional design allows transformation into the largest fully-flat business class bed in the sky, and also features a 15.4 inch LCD television monitor fully equipped with USB ports and in-seat power, bedding and designer sleepwear by noted international fashion designer Givenchy.
The new Singapore Airlines flight will mark the first-ever non-stop service connecting Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental to Moscow’s Domodedovo International (DME) and then on to Singapore’s Changi International (SIN). It provides convenient new travel options for the energy and corporate markets in Russia, as well as a convenient link to its extensive network of flight connections throughout Asia for corporate and leisure travelers. “Houston is a global transportation gateway and a major hub when it comes to the energy industry, and the new options Singapore Airlines offers will strengthen business and tourism opportunities not only in Houston but throughout the region,” says Richard Vacar, director of the Houston Airport System.
Singapore will operate its newest Boeing 777-300 Extended Range aircraft during the four weekly non-stop flights from Bush. “We know that Texans appreciate luxury, service and quality, so it seems only fitting to launch our new Houston flights with the world’s largest First Class and Business Class product,” said Mr. W.K. Lim, regional vice president Americas for Singapore Airlines. IAH served more than 7.7 million international travelers and 70 global destinations in 2007.
