New Air Service Continues to Arrive

  George Bush Intercontinental Airport reaches 122 U.S. destinations with nonstop flight service.
The Houston Airport System is steadily attracting new air service as a result of Houston's booming economy and diverse population. Houstonians and those coming to visit have great options for nonstop service.

Below is What's New in August:

Spirit Airlines Adds Nonstop Flights between Houston and New Orleans, Atlanta and Kansas City

Houstonians now have more options for nonstop flight service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA and Kansas City, MO.

Spirit Airlines launched daily service to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) on August 1, 2014.

The New Orleans flight departs leaves MSY at 10:12 a.m. and arrives at IAH at 11:25 a.m., and the return flight leaves IAH at 6:19 p.m. and arrives at MSY at 7:34 p.m. All times are local.

The Atlanta flight departs IAH at 12:05 p.m. and arrives at ATL at 3:12 p.m., and the return flight departs ATL at 4:31 p.m. and arrives at IAH at 5:38 p.m. All times are local.

On August 8, 2014, the airline will begin nonstop daily service to Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The departing flight will leaves MCI at 6:45 a.m. and arrive at IAH at 8:38 a.m., and the return flight departs Houston at 9:18 a.m. and arrives at MCI at 11:11 a.m. All times are local.

United Airlines Launches New Service to Boise, Idaho

Beginning, August 19, 2014, passengers can enjoy daily nonstop United Express service between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Boise Airport (BOI). The flight will be operated by SkyWest Airlines using a 70-seat regional jet aircraft.

“This new nonstop flight connecting Houston to Boise, Idaho is great for both cities, and we are confident this route will prove successful,” said Waits. “Boise has a thriving performing arts scene for our leisure passengers to enjoy as well as great partnerships for Houston-based businesses.”

The daily flight departs Boise at 7:30 a.m. and arrives in Houston at 12:01 p.m. The return flight departs Houston at 5:45 p.m. and arrives in Boise at 8:31 p.m. All times are local.

"We are thrilled United is offering Boise’s first nonstop flight into Texas, and we are even happier it is through Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport," said Rebecca Hupp, director of the Boise Airport. "This new United service opens up a whole new region of the country for us, and helps our customers more easily connect to businesses in the Houston area, as well as serving as a convenient hub for Caribbean, Latin American and South American flights."

United Airlines is the only airline offering flights between Houston and Boise.
