PreCheck has already served more than 18 million passengers since 2001.

The popular expedited traveler program known as PreCheck is now available to passengers at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).

Representatives from the Houston Airport System (HAS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and participating airlines at Hobby Airport have worked through the necessary planning details and officially unveiled the service to passengers on November 14, 2013.

“Hobby Airport already enjoys a well-deserved reputation for being a user-friendly facility,” says Hobby Airport General Manager Perry J. Miller. “PreCheck is going to allow that level of efficiency and customer satisfaction to reach even higher.”

At the time of the program's launch, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines were all listed as participating carriers for the PreCheck program at Hobby Airport.

For those flying Southwest Airlines, Select Rapid Rewards Members will be invited to opt in to the TSA PreCheck program. These passengers are chosen using a process that was established by TSA.

Passengers who are already enrolled in other trusted traveler programs, such as Global Entry, will be able to use their Known Traveler Number (KTN) when booking flights on southwest.com.
Those selected for TSA PreCheck, will see "TSA PRE" printed on their boarding passes. This is the indication that they are eligible for TSA PreCheck expedited screening.

Passengers enrolled in the program are typically allowed to pass through the airport security process without removing their jackets, laptops, belts, shoes and/or other items. TSA officials recently announced that they would be expanding the program to 60 additional airports, including William P. Hobby Airport.

Since the program was initially unveiled in October 2001, more than 18 million passengers have taken advantage of the PreCheck expedited service.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Already in place at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, PreCheck allows passengers who have gone through a prior screening process to access faster security lanes at participating airports. PreCheck was also expanded at IAH recently in order to accommodate even more passengers at Houston’s largest airport.

The program was initially available exclusively in Terminal C, but customers can now access PreCheck lanes at the following facilities at the following times:

Terminal A North:  4:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Terminal B:  5:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Terminal C:  4:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Terminal E:  4:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

TSA officials also recently announced that by the beginning of 2014, they expect to see active members of the United States Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserves and National Guard) automatically included as participants in the PreCheck program .
