HAS Community Relations Director Rhonda Arnold was recently named as one of the "Top 30
Influential Women of Houston".

  Hobby Airport General Manager Perry Miller was named as the Alumni of the Year by his alma mater Texas Southern University.

Team members with the Houston Airport System (HAS) continue to garner national attention as we strive towards the goal of being a high performance organization by partnering with key stakeholders in Houston.

Leaders with the Center of Science and Technology at Texas Southern University (TSU) recently named the Houston Airport System as its "Partner of the Year."

Houston Aviation Director Mario Diaz was on hand to receive the award from TSU partners, who cited the commitment shown by the HAS leadership team in areas such as internship programs, collaboration on the High School Aviation Club and a host of other areas.

Team members with the Houston Airport System are proud to congratulate Community Relations Director Rhonda Arnold on her recent recognition as one of "the Top 30 Influential Women of Houston."

The recognition came from the d-mars Business Journal and highlighted Arnold's tenacity, discipline and diligence in approaching her day to day activities as the Community Relations Director for one of the nation's largest airport systems.

"It's a tremendous honor to be included on such a prestigious list," Arnold says.  "These are the key leaders from Houston's business, political and social outreach scene and it's such a blessing to see my name listed among them."

Perry J. Miller, General Manager at William P. Hobby Airport, was recently recognized by his alma mater, Texas Southern University.

Miller was among a small list of six graduates who were recognized as the 2013 Alumni of the Year at the Presidents Gala, held in October.  Local television news anchor Melanie Lawson served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event, while U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and U.S. Congressman Al Green were also in attendance. 

Miller graduated from TSU in 1990, obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Airway Science Management.  He joined the HAS team as a management intern in 1991 and quickly climbed the ranks, having served in key positions at all three of the system's airport facilities.
