Thanks to new charging stations, it's now easier than ever to use your electronic devices at IAH.
Passengers using electronic devices at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) are finding more charging options, thanks to the efforts of the Houston Airport System (HAS).

HAS has already outfitted Terminal D with row seating that features more than 200 power outlets and USB ports.

“People want to stay connected throughout the airport process,” says Lisa Kent, chief technology officer for the Houston Airport System. “A basic step in meeting that demand is making sure that recharging capabilities are available on a large scale.”

The latest effort in meeting that demand involves new seats found in the hold areas of Terminal D. Certain rows are specially equipped with three power stations, located just below the seat area. Each of these stations offer passengers two electrical outlets for traditional recharging, as well as two USB ports for additional recharging options.

“With so many devices in use these days, it’s important that we provide passengers with options,” Kent says.
