Valet parking at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is off to a solid start, with thousands of customers taking advantage of the service in its first few weeks of existence.

Since its launch on June 27, Valet Parking has attracted more than 4,000 drivers at IAH, offering them the convenience of dropping off their keys and heading straight to their designated terminal facility.

“We are extremely pleased with the early response to the valet concept at IAH,” says Houston Airport System parking director, Liliana Rambo, CAPP. “Customers have immediately recognized it as both a great convenience and a great value.”

One reason for the early success is the ease in which drivers can access the various check-in locations. Customers simply follow the valet signage found inside each parking garage at IAH:

• Terminal A/B Garage: ground level
• Terminal C Garage: level 4
• Terminal D/E Garage: level 2

Once vehicles have pulled into the check-in location, drivers can exchange their keys for an identifying ticket and begin the walk to their specific terminal, leaving the parking process to an attendant with Valet Parking.

The service also removes the need to remember specific parking locations, since the receipt is the only item necessary for vehicle retrieval.

“This service puts you in a great position to access your designated terminal, it removes the need to memorize parking locations and it does it all at a terrific price,” Rambo says. “That’s why customers are gravitating toward the valet service.”

Valet Parking costs $25 daily and represents a partnership between the Houston Airport System and USA Parking System, a company that specializes in the management of high-end, service-oriented parking facilities.

The service is expected to be available to customers at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) by the end of the year.
