The roadway project at William P. Hobby Airport was completed a full three months ahead of schedule.
Passengers at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) are once again using the convenient upper-level roadway for passenger drop-offs.

The roadway was closed to all vehicle traffic for approximately nine months while construction crews made necessary repairs.

That work was carried out in a manner that allowed the roadway to re-open several months earlier than anticipated by the original plan.

"We're extremely pleased to announce the opening of the departure-level ramp at Hobby three months earlier than originally scheduled," said Ross Underhill, acting deputy general manager operations.  "With this opening, the passengers will once again experience the convenience and ease of access."

Underhill and others joined together along the renovated roadway for a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 20, marking the latest in a string of major improvements at Hobby Airport.

A $350 million renovation program brought several significant changes to the facility, including a new lobby, ticket counter space, baggage claim area, art pieces and more.
