Passengers enrolled in the new program are expedited through the security process.
TSA Pre✓™ is a passenger screening pilot that is expanding to airports across the country, and is now available at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental (IAH).

The program allows for passengers to opt-in by volunteering additional personal information for the agency to thoroughly pre-screen and evaluate security risk.

Eligible participants selected for the expedited screening through TSA’s security checkpoints will not be required to remove shoes, lightweight jackets, belts, laptops or the liquids bag from carry-on luggage.

TSA has partnered with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as U.S. air carriers as part of this initiative. Certain frequent flyers from Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways will be invited by the respective airlines to participate by opting-in.

Additionally, U.S. citizens who are members of CBP’s Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS are eligible to participate by providing their membership IDs at the time of flight booking.

The program is currently available for eligible passengers flying domestically on participating airlines at 16 airports and will be expanding during 2012 to an additional 17 locations. TSA Pre✓™ is began the program at IAH on July 24, 2012 in Terminal C-South for United passengers only.

TSA will always incorporate random and unpredictable security measures throughout the airport and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening in order to retain a certain element of randomness to prevent terrorists from gaming the system.
