Real Success for Real Food Company

The Real Food Company offers customers eight separate and distinctly different menus.
It made a splash with customers when it opened in 2009, and now the Real Food Company restaurant at George Bush Intercontinental Airport is making a splash on the awards circuit as well.

The restaurant, operated by SSP America in Terminal C at Bush Intercontinental, recently took home one of the most prestigious awards available at the Airport Revenue News awards ceremony.  The Real Food Company was recognized as in the category of “Best New Food & Beverage Concept.”
The Real Food Company offers customers a variety of choices, with eight separate and distinctly different menus from which to choose.

The eight Marché-style serving stations produce a host of different flavors, including gourmet salads, sandwiches made on fresh artisan bread, Texas BBQ, oven-baked pizzas, sushi, down home cooking, Tex-Mex, pastas and more.

“SSP America is deeply proud of the honors we have received,” says Les Cappetta, president and chief executive officer of SSP America. “Three years ago we set off on a journey to change the way people eat in airports. We are proud of our awards and will continue to move forward and raise standards at every opportunity.”

The unique approach at The Real Food Company not only applies to its menu, but to the architectural layout as well. The space at Bush Intercontinental Airport covers 6,200 square-feet and features theater-style cooking throughout the restaurant.

As a result, customers are treated to a clear view of a team of chefs, as they cook up a host of different items, with only a wall of glass standing between them and the culinary works-in-progress.

Airport Revenue News is a leading publication within the aviation industry, specializing in concessions and retail operations. Each year, it recognizes excellence found at airports across the country with its annual awards ceremony.
