Many students and families are traveling for spring break this month.

Houston’s passenger airports have spring fever! Lots of activity will be going on to celebrate spring plus there’s important information to remember when traveling.

This time of year brings many happy passengers to George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) Airports. Most of them are headed out on spring break vacations and some for the very first time!

“We’re going to Disney for spring break!” says eight- year-old Brianna Munoz. “I can’t wait to see Mickey Mouse and have a tea party with the Disney Princesses!”

For parents that are traveling with children and for those young at heart, IAH and HOU will have spring entertainment available including Wii stations, a balloon artist, line dancers, rodeo clowns and much more. To get a full schedule, Click Here.

“From entertaining our younger passengers to providing some of the best retail and shopping options an airport can offer, we do our best to make sure passengers have an easier, stress free time traveling though IAH and Hobby airports,” says Zeljka Momirovic, Houston Airport System customer relations & special services program manager.

Along with all of the excitement that comes with spring break, there are plenty of things to remember when traveling through the airports:

Arrive Early

It is recommended to arrive to the airport early to allow ample time for parking, checking in and finding your gate. Arrive at least one hour before domestic flights and two hours for international flights.

Pack Smart

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has rules on what you can and cannot bring in your checked and carry on bags. Click Here for a complete list of permitted and prohibited items.

Shopping and Eating

Along with the spring entertainment Houston’s airports are providing, there are numerous shops and restaurants that are family friendly. To see a complete list at IAH, Click Here (Simply choose the terminal you will be in on the left hand side of the screen.) For HOU, Click Here.
