George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) announces the arrival of low-cost airline VivaAerobus, which makes its entry into the Houston market with non-stop service to Monterrey, Mexico this summer.

VivaAerobus begins non-stop flights between Houston and Monterrey, Nuevo Leon begins in July 2010 with bi-weekly service.

The new airline will operate in IAH's International

“Thousands of Houstonians have very close ties to the people and businesses located in Monterrey,” said Genaro Peña, HAS marketing director. “VivaAerobus is going to give passengers even more options when it comes to travel between the two cities and as a result, those ties will likely become even stronger in the future.”

“VivaAerobus is delighted to join these two important cities and to finally bring really low fares, competition and choice to consumers,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, commercial director for VivaAerobus. “We know we are generating an important benefit mainly to passengers that wish to travel at a low cost. Flying to and from these destinations used to be extremely expensive, but today, thanks to VivaAerobus, expensive fares are over.”

IAH offers service to more Mexican destinations than any other airport in the world.
