Brian Rinehart is the Airport Manager for the Houston Airport System’s Ellington Field. Employed by HAS since 1995, he recently served as assistant manager of Bush Intercontinental Airport and has held positions in parking management and physical plant maintenance. Rinehart is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the aviation complex at Ellington Field as well as for establishing policies, procedures, guidelines and project schedules for the airport. In addition, Rinehart also coordinates the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the budget and expenditures for Ellington Field, among other duties.
He retired from the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Master Aviator after 26 years of service. During his military career, he served two combat tours flying assault helicopters. He earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, four Air Medals for Valor and 38 Air Medals for aerial operations in combat zones. He also served at the Pentagon as a defense systems coordinator; managing technology based projects such as laser, high-powered microwave, particle beam, radar and nuclear research and development.
Rinehart graduated from Farmington High School, Farmington, New Mexico, and received a BA of Aviation Management and a BS of Aviation Science with Magna Cum Laude recognition from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
