Lufthansa brings the A340-600 to Houston
Really fast; all 14 wheels on the newest aircraft flown by Lufthansa are making a beeline towards George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) – the longest passenger aircraft in the world is now being operated by Lufthansa. The Airbus A340-600 is making a debut at Bush Intercontinental just in time for an anticipated, record holiday season.  Read Story

Double-digit growth for HAS across the board 
At the Houston Airport System (HAS), both passenger and air cargo traffic for the month of September soared into double-digit growth. Just nine months into the current year, the airport system’s total passenger count at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports combined was up by 2.6 million – a significant year-over-year increase of 7.2 percent. The month of September alone registered a 15.8 percent increase in total passenger counts. Read Story  

"Ole, ole, ole, ole" - a victory for the Houston Dynamo
A flood of orange washed over Houston, today, as dozens of soccer fans gathered at Hobby Airport to welcome home their victorious Major League Soccer team – the Houston Dynamo. Cheers and applause echoed throughout the terminal as, one-by-one, several of the team’s MVP players made their way out of the airport. Read Story 
 

A new player in Houston’s general aviation market
With the recent addition of six new airport locations across the country – including a second facility in Houston – Atlantic Aviation is now running a network of 42 state-of-the-art fixed based operator (FBO)facilities. Through this considerable expansion, the aviation services provider is hoping to maintain a competitive edge on the growing number of fixed based operators popping up across the nation.  Read Story 


Houston an international hub for major events
New aircraft and carriers are not the only ones flocking into Houston - From quilts to swine and everything in between these days Houston’s major gathering spots are swarming with the likes of international celebrities, heavy-hitting politicos and even the latest and greatest in technology. Looking to strike up new deals
It’s the largest growing population in the United States, and in Houston it’s the population that has given the city somewhat of a Latin flair. Anywhere you look in Houston – whether it’s at a shopping mall, a doctor’s office, a school or even a grocery store – it’s hard not to notice the impact of this community on the local identity. Yet despite their strength in numbers, the Hispanic population throughout the country continues to be severely underrepresented in the world of commerce. Salvation in a suitcase: precious cargo
In the United States they’re items that are so abundant that often times they end up in landfills or dump sites – items like sutures, band aids, gloves, tubing, disinfectant solutions, needles, etc. For thousands of patients in need in virtually every continent of the world, however, these objects could represent the difference between life and death. Each year more than $9 billion worth of this precious cargo is salvaged in Houston and delivered to patients in need across the globe via the Houston Airport System.  Read Story

“Boss-lift” gives employers a taste of military life
Other than the fact that they are not at work and that they are out serving their country, many employers don’t know much about what their reservist employees do while their on active duty. For that reason, three decades ago, the Texas Air National Guard created the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve program. Today, that program has been expanded to 56 different facilities across the nation – including the Houston Airport System’s Ellington Field.  Read Story
