Hobby Airport Spreads Its Cultural Wings
Launches New Bayou Exhibit

The Houston Airport System (HAS) in conjunction with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership will debut the first in a series of cultural affairs temporary exhibits during a ceremony at 11:00a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009 at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). The exhibit entitled, Houston is Big on…Bayous, is part of a collection of works designed to educate airport visitors about the history, natural environment, and accomplishments offered throughout Houston and the surrounding metropolitan venues; and provide insight into some of the elements that make the area one of the most attractive places to live in the country. The array of exhibits to be displayed during the year will be provided by non-profit, historical and cultural organizations, and will augment the HAS art program; which includes a prominent permanent art collection and various art conservation efforts.
