William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) are now the homes to two brand new restaurants that also happen to be the nation’s first of their kind in an airport setting.
The newest restaurant is at Hobby Airport and has sports fans licking their fingers.
Buffalo Wild Wings ® opened their doors at Hobby just in time for the NFL season and the wrap up of the National Baseball League. The spacious facility is the nation’s first airport location and has lots of seating with a full bar for patrons.
“For years, the Buffalo Wild Wings ® Corporation had food service operators in other cities vying to get into airports across the country,” said Kenneth James, Chief Financial Officer of LaTrelle’s Management Corporation. “And when we approached them, they said yes because they thought William P. Hobby was important to them, and the Hobby staff is definitely Houston Friendly.”
In case you didn’t know it, Buffalo Wild Wings ® is an award-winning sports bar famous for its Buffalo, New York-style wings and 14 signature sauces. With over 600 locations in 14 states, it is one of the fastest-growing destinations for casual dining and sports viewing, making it a great fit for the busy rush of an airport crowd.
“Hobby leads the way when it comes to customer satisfaction and service and our new restaurants have been a big part of that,” said Mary Case, manager of Hobby Airport. “We’re very proud to have the Buffalo Wild Wings ® concept at our airport, and they have our full support.” |

If you are heading to Bush Intercontinental Airport and you are a picky eater, The Real Company has something for you.
The open restaurant concept which is located in terminal C south has 11 serving stations and offers everything from a well seasoned steak, to jambalaya with jumbo shrimp, Chinese chicken salad and delicate pastries.
The concept and eclectic décor are a first of its kind in the nation.
“We operate two restaurants in Europe, “says Roger Schwandtner, V.P. Business Development of SSP America. “We are setting a new standard with this type of restaurant in order to offer a variety of quality food at great prices for passengers.”
“This is another pilot project here at Bush,” said Randy Goodman, commercial business development manager. “And The Real Food Company has exceeded our expectations.”
Attracting the nation’s first airport restaurants is a part of the business strategy. It’s a team effort from planning and design, construction, training and great customer service.
The Houston Airport System continues to build on its great reputation as customer friendly facilities which cater to local and international travelers.
