The Houston Airport System announces that George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will soon add nonstop air service from Houston to Montreal.

"With the addition of Montreal-Houston service, we are pleased to announce the expansion of our transborder network the same day as operations begin at Montreal-Trudeau's new U.S. departure hall," said Marcel Forget, Vice President, Network Planning. "We expect our new Houston service to be popular with business travelers as well as travelers seeking convenient access to the vast array of Mexican, Central and South American destinations offered by our future Star Alliance partner Continental Airlines."

Houston passengers will also have access to 19 markets throughout Canada as well as convenient connections to Europe including London, Paris, Rome and Munich.

“The addition of Air Canada’s nonstop service to Montreal will greatly benefit Canadian and American passengers,” says Genaro Pena, HAS director of marketing. “Montreal and Houston both increase the convenience of traveling around the world by linking the extensive networks of two major Star Alliance carrier hubs (Air Canada and Continental Airlines)."

Passengers utilizing the nonstop service will arrive at their destination an average of three hours sooner than those passengers with itineraries that include connecting flights.

As a result of a new code sharing agreement with Continental Airlines, Air Canada passengers flying into Houston will have access to 52 destinations in 19 countries in Latin America, plus easier access to the central and southern regions of the United States.
