The Houston Airport System and the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) teams up for a one-of- a kind event. The 2009 Mutt Strut and Runway Race encourages participants to bring out their dogs and walk, run or strut along one of the busy runways at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The unique setting and the opportunity to raise money and awareness for the Houston SPCA make this event extremely popular. The entire course is 3.1 miles and there will be plenty of fun family activities. Last year the race was postponed because of Hurricane Ike. Media wishing to cover the Mutt Strut and Runway Race should call for clearance by contacting the Houston Airport System Media pager at (713) 684-3482.
