If a picture is worth a thousand words, then George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) has seen an amazing conversation unfold over the past four decades.
Since opening in 1969, more than 700 million people have passed through the gates at IAH and a large number of them have done so with a camera draped around their neck.
So, with four decades worth of memories in mind, the Houston Airport System (HAS) invites you to take part in a commemorative photographic celebration.
“40 Years of Hellos and Good-byes” is an outreach effort designed to share the heartwarming photos you may have taken of your family and friends arriving or departing at IAH.
Your emotional moments could be selected to appear in the airport, on postcards or other airport memorabilia, and a prize drawing will take place for submissions used in the exhibit.
We need your photos by May 15, 2009 so please start thinking about the magical memories that you’d like to share.
The entry process is incredibly easy: Just scan or copy your photo, write a description of the moment captured in the photograph and send it to us via mail or e-mail.
